Assistant United States Attorney Terri Hagan, USAO, and Special Agent Miguel Clarke, FBI, will discuss investigating and prosecuting cybercrime. Some of the topics that they will address include Search & Seizure, Chain of Custody, Case Examples, Potential Issues with Corporate Counsel, What is "Loss?," What to do if you find Child Porn, and Prosecution Guidelines. |

Terri L. Hagan is an Assistant United States for the Eastern District of Texas. She serves the Eastern District as a Senior Litigation Counsel and as the Point of Contact for Cyber Crime and Bankruptcy crimes. Ms. Hagan graduated from St. Mary''s University School of Law in 1986. She then went to work as an Assistant District Attorney at the Dallas County District Attorney''s Office. While at the District Attorney''s Office, Ms. Hagan prosecuted over 100 trials and ended her tenure there as Chief of the Commercial Fraud Section, Specialized Crime Division. Ms. Hagan then went to work for the Fraud Section, Criminal Division, United States Department of Justice in 1990. She was assigned to work in Dallas as a Senior Trial Attorney at the Bank Fraud Task Force. In 1994, Ms. Hagan became an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas. AUSA Hagan has prosecuted white-collar crime cases including computer crimes, health care fraud, bank fraud, securities fraud, bankruptcy fraud, income tax fraud, real estate fraud, and identity fraud.
AUSA Hagan was named recipient of the Jack Sneed Award by the International Association of Arson Investigators in 2008 and in 2004 for her Outstanding Prosecution of Arson cases. She was also named as the 1996 Outstanding Young Lawyer of Dallas by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. From 1998 to 2000, AUSA Hagan served as Chair of the District 1A, Grievance Committee for the State Bar of Texas. Additionally, AUSA Hagan served as a Director on the State Bar Board of Directors from 2002 through 2005. Currently, AUSA Hagan chairs the State Bar''s Crime Victims Committee and the Collin County Health Care Foundation Advisory Board. AUSA Hagan is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Plano.
